Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Belgian Waffles
Perfect for 2 people. This recipe is easy to double, triple, or multiply it by 100 if you want haha. But this recipe is normally the right amount for two people.
I like to throw them in the oven (set at 200 degreees F) for 3-5 minutes before eating to make them crispier.
INGREDIENTS:
-
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
-
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
-
1/2 tsp baking powder
-
1/8 tsp baking soda
-
1/4 tsp salt
-
1/2 cup heavy cream
-
3 tbsp milk
-
1 egg, separated into the yolk and white
-
2 tbsp vegetable oil
-
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
-
1 tbsp sugar
-
1/2 cup chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS:
-
Turn your waffle maker on
-
In a large bowl, whisk together the flours, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Place the bowl aside
-
In another bowl, whisk the heavy cream, milk, egg yolk, vegetable oil and vanilla extract together. In another bowl, whip the egg white until small peaks form. Whip the sugar in until well combined
-
Whisk the heavy cream mixture into the dry ingredients, then whisk the egg white mixture in. Fold in the chocolate chips
-
Follow the directions of your waffle maker to cook the waffles. Enjoy!
