Peanut Butter rice krispies
So. These are maybe the best rice krispies in the world... My aunt showed me these when I was 8 and since then, I have had them: every year I made them for my birthday, for Christmas, and for soooo many holidays I cannot even count! Anywayyss, these are really delicious, and they are made out of peanut butter... Like whattt!! Also, they are topped with not just chocolate, but also butterscotch, which if you haven't tried, you have to because it is AMAZING!
INGREDIENTS:
-
1 cup karo syrup
-
1 cup granulated sugar
-
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
-
5 cups rice krispies
-
1 bag of chocolate chips (about 1 1/3 cups)
-
1 bag of butterscotch chips (about 1 1/3 cups)
DIRECTIONS:
-
On medium heat in a saucepan with a wooden spoon, mix together karo syrup and granulated sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Once it boils, turn the fire off and mix in the peanut butter and then quickly stir in the rice krispies
-
Put mixture into 9 x 13 pan and flatten out. Place in freezer while making the topping
-
Put chocolate and butterscotch chips into either a saucepan or a microwavable bowl. If in a saucepan, stir with a wooden spoon over medium heat until completely melted. If in the microwave, melt in 30 second increments stirring inbetween
-
Once melted, spread over the rice krispies and put in refrigerator for at least one hour. Take out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before serving, because it is hard to cut
