OREO TRUFFLES

Hey so this is one of the simplest, chocolatiest, yummiest desserts I love to make. I make this for school on average once a week because I love to eat them and so does everyone else. There is no oven involved, just the freezer. The recipe may sound disgusting because it's Oreos and cream cheese but actually that is false. They are amazing. You will appreciate them forever once you try them.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 36 piece package oreos

  • 1 8oz package plain cream cheese

  • 16oz Semi Sweet Chocolate pieces (I use Baker's because it is great for baking but Nestle's probably works well too)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Finely crush the Oreos which you can do by:

    1. Crush the Oreos in a food procesor

    2. Placing them in a bowl and using a large spoon to crush them

    3. Placing them in large ziploc bag and hitting them until they break

  2. Mix in cream cheese with a spatula or spoon of any material. It may take a few minutes to fully mix in the cream cheese

  3. Roll about 1 tbsp of the mixture into balls and place them on a tray. They can be close because they will not expand like cookies do, and place in freezer for about 10 minutes.

  4. While the truffles are freezing, melt the chocolate in 20 seconds incraments.

  5. Once the chocolate is melted, take the truffles out of the freezer, dip them into the chocolate, and then place them back onto the tray.

  6. Freeze the truffles for another 30 minutes and then place them into the refrigerator until you are ready to serve them!
