Brownies
These, I gotta say, are delicious, super easy and well, everything you could want in a brownie! (Except for my Nutella Brownies which are also amazing!)
I know everyone likes there brownies baked to a different degree. Personally, I love mine super gooey, but a bunch of my friends like them baked more and still gooey, but also cakey. So, don't worry, I know that the baking time is going to vary A LOT. The range of baking time in the recipe is only 5 minutes, but honestly, some times I will bake mine for a shorter or longer time.
Also, these are pretty chocolaty (if that's a word I'm not sure) but if you want more chocolate, add more chocolate :))
INGREDIENTS:
-
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
-
1/4 cup + 1 tbsp cocoa powder
-
1/2 tsp baking soda
-
1/2 tsp kosher salt
-
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
-
1/2 cup chocolate chips
-
1 whole egg + 1 egg yolk
-
1/2 tsp vanilla
-
3/4 cups sugar
-
1/4 cup brown sugar
-
chocolate chips to add on top
DIRECTIONS:
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. With an 8x8in pan, either spray a non-stick grease or coat with butter on bottom and the sides. I like coating the pan in a thin layer of cocoa powder to add flavor
-
In a small bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. Set aside
-
In a large bowl, melt butter and chocolate chips in either the microwave or using a double boiler. Once melted let it cool a bit as to not begin to cook the other ingredients
-
You can either use a stand mixer with a paddle attachment or hand whisk it. Add sugar into butter/chocolate chips and whisk until combined. Continue to whisk while adding eggs and vanilla extract
-
Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet. It is helpful to switch your whisk for a spatula if hand mixing. Fold in your desired amount of chocolate chips, the more chocolate the merrier :)
-
Pour the batter evenly into the pan and place in oven to bake for 25-30 minutes, because I believe brownies are completely preference. 25 minutes will be more on the gooey side compared to 30 minutes which will be more cakey
